CSV Directory Upload
You can upload CSV (Comma Separated Variable) files to the INDeX 30 to create or
amend user and system speed dial numbers. The sections below detail CSV files for
user directory numbers and for system speed dial numbers. Whilst the two types of
file can be combined, for the sake of simplicity we do not recommend this.
Below is an example CSV file. CSV files can be created using any basic text editor.
They can also be exported by many database and spreadsheet programs but we
recommend that you check the contents using a text editor before uploading.
EXTENSION, USER NAME, DEPARTMENT, NODE
300, Alan Jones, MIS,
301, Mary Smith, MIS,
302, Ray Wilkins, Accounts, 64
– The first line contains the column headers. These indicate the order and function
of the entries in the following lines.
– Each entry in a line is separated by a comma and space. For blank entries enter
just a comma and a space.
– Beware of additional spaces before commas, especially in headers.
User CSV File
Below is an example CSV file for user directory numbers.
EXTENSION, USER NAME, DEPARTMENT, NODE
300, Alan Jones, MIS,
301, Mary Smith, MIS,
302, Ray Wilkins, Accounts, 64
When uploaded to the switch, the file will act as follows:
– If an extension number does not exist then it is created with the user name
shown. If the number already exists, its user name is replaced.
– If a
DEPARTMENT
column is included, it is used to create groups using the
department names set for each entry. The group number is taken from the
Next
group number
(
System
>
Installation
).
– If a
NODE
entry is included, then user is set as a remote user on another INDeX
with that node number.
System Speed Dial CSV File
Below is an example CSV file for system speed dials.
STORE, EXTERNAL, ACCOUNT, COMPANY NAME
9000, 01707392200, , Acme Parts
9001, 01603333234, 12345, Warehouse
When uploaded to the switch, the file will act as follow:
– Create or amend matching speed dial stores. The switch automatically inserts
the
Dial Prefix
set in the
PSTN Access
menu.
