This alternative setup has the
advantage that you do not need to
reconfi gure your router or PCs,
but it has the disadvantage that
your data connection may interfere
with your voice connection and
reduce call quality.
To perform the alternative setup and
connect your TA behind the router:
A
Make sure you have your
AT&T CallVantage
®
Service
User ID and password handy,
as described in Step 1.
B
Set up your cabling as shown
in the diagram on the following
page. There is no need to turn
off or disconnect your cable/
DSL modem, router, or any PCs
connected to your router.
C
Power up your TA by plugging
it into a power outlet.
D
Make sure your telephone
is connected to your TA
and plugged into a power outlet
(if necessary).
E
Follow Step 6, Activate your
TA.
Congratulations! Setup is now
complete! You can start making
calls by dialing the 10-digit
number from the phone connected
to your Telephone Adapter.
You can also use the new advanced
features available on your AT&T
CallVantage Service Home Page at
www.callvantage.att.com
If you are transferring your
current phone number to AT&T
CallVantage Service, you will not
be able to receive calls or place
911 Emergency Dialing calls until
your number is transferred. See
your order confi rmation emails for
additional details.
If you experience any problems
with the service, please refer to
Troubleshooting, page 24.
