STUDENT GUIDE
LESSON 3 The Dispensing Valve
OBJECTIVE: Upon completion of this lesson, the student should be able to
disconnect, clean, and reconnect the dispensing valve.

Routine Use Once a month.
Fluid Type Change Before using a new fluid.
Curable Materials Immediately after use.
Clogged Needle Tip Immediately.
TOOLS AND
MATERIALS
NEEDED
•
3/21-inch hex key
•
1/16-inch hex key
•
Bottle Brush
•
KC01 Conditioning Fluid
•
Seal Removal Tool
•
Crescent Wrench
EXERCISE 3-6 Removing the valve
1. Attach an empty syringe to the valve.
2. Perform a PURGE COMMAND.
3. Disconnect the CB-06N Interface Cable.
4. Disconnect the blue air pressure line.
5. Remove the syringe.
6. Remove the valve from the bracket by using the
1/16-inch hex key to loosen the three setscrews
on the left side of the bracket.
7. Raise the valve and slide it out to the left.
8. Remove and discard the needle.
9. Loosen the two screws recessed on the
underside of the valve body using the 3/32-inch
hex key.
10. Pull the valve body straight down and away
from the valve motor and feedscrew assembly
gently.
11. Remove the seal inside the feed screw chamber
using the seal removal tool.
12. Remove the plug screw and O-ring on the front
face of the valve body using the 3/32-inch hex
key.
13. Remove the syringe port using the crescent
wrench.
14.
Remove any excess fluid in the feed screw
chamber, the syringe port channel, and the fluid
channel using the small bottlebrush.
