The pumps are powered by the engine batteries.
Do not operate the water sprayer system contin-
uously.

Important

During freezing weather, take the system out of ser-
vice, and drain the tank and the hose.

Water Sprinkler System

The 6710D is equipped with a water sprinkler system to
help suppress dust, which further helps to prevent fire as
dry materials pass through the grinding process. The
valves and water connection for this system are located
on the left side of the machine (Figure 40) near the feed
chain drive motor. This system is separate from the self-
contained water sprayer system (see “Water Pump
Sprayer”).

Sprinkler System Valves and Connections

The water sprinkler nozzles wet the material near the
compression roll housing and at the primary discharge
conveyor. The nozzles do not wet material enough to
prevent it from burning. Follow all fire safety proce-
dures to prevent injury and machine damage from fire.

The water sprinkler system is designed for typical
municipal water supplies. Any external source can pro-
vide the water through a standard hose connection. The
system hoses are rated for 200 psi. Over-pressurizing
the system can cause the hoses to burst or come off. See
Table 5 for the system flow rate.



To use the water sprinkler system:

1.

Connect a standard water-supply hose to the
threaded fitting..

Turn on the valves you want to use.
