This system is separate from the water sprinkler system
(see “Water Sprinkler System” on page 48).
Table 4 specifies the water sprayer system.
The water sprayer can be an effective tool, but is not a
substitute for other types of fire prevention equipment
or for good fire safety practices. Always be prepared for
immediate response to a fire. Keep the water sprayer
tank filled with water at all times.
• Use this water sprayer to wash debris off the
machine and to wet down the area around the
machine.
• Keep the water tank filled (Figure 38) and ready for
emergency use when the machine is operating.
• Fire risk levels and hazards change with conditions
and job sites. Operation personnel are in the best
position to decide how to use the water sprayer most
effectively and how often on each job site. They are
the ones most responsible for job site fire safety and
prevention.
• Use this water sprayer to fight Class A combustible
material fires.
• Before travel, secure the hose end to prevent it from
loosening while transporting the grinder.

To use the water sprayer:
1. Unspool the hose from the reel.
2. Turn the water pump switch to
ON
.
3. Twist the nozzle to set the spray pattern.

To shut down the water sprayer:
1. Twist to close the spray nozzle.
2. Turn the water pump switch to
OFF
.
3. Re-spool the hose.
