• If you cook a whole fish, make slits on it and in this way, you can
prevent simmer of skin.
• Cover head and tail parts of fish with aluminum foil for preventing
overcooking.
• If you are using stretch film, bag or baker bag, make a hole for releasing
steam or leave a little spacing.
• Food with small pieces will cook faster than those with large pieces
and food with flat shapes will cook faster than the others. For an optimal
cooking, cut the foodstuff into an equal and flat dimension.
Amount of food
• If you prepare a lot of food, it will take a lot of time. Preparing double
dish means double time.
Moisture content
• Cooking time will vary depending on the amount of liquid because
microwaves ovens are sensitive to humidity. Food with natural liquid
(vegetable, fish, poultry etc.) will cook fast and easily. Addition of water is
recommended while cooking dry foodstuff such as rice, dried bean.
Mist
• Moisture contained in some foodstuff may sometimes cause misting
inside the oven during cooking. This is normal. Covered food general
creates less misting.
Sugar
• Adhere to the recommendations in the microwave cookbooks while
cooking foodstuffs such as pudding, pie etc. containing excessive sugar
or fat.
• If you exceed the recommended time, you can cause the foodstuff to
get burnt or the oven to get damaged.
Pressure reduction in food
• Several foodstuffs are covered with skin or rind. They may crack due
to steam likely to occur on their inside during cooking. For avoiding this,
skin or rind should be perforated with fork or knife. This process should
be applied to potato, chicken liver, egg yolk, sausage, hot dog and some
fruit.
