To remove and install the reeds, use the following pro-
cedure:
1. Remove the reducer from the reed cage; then push
the reed cage firmly through the stopper flange.

NOTE: It may be necessary to lightly tap the reed
cage with a soft hammer to disengage it from the
stopper flange.

2. Remove the outer reeds from the locating tabs.

NOTE: To remove the inner reeds, place a flat-
blade screwdriver in the slot above the retaining
bar at a 45° angle.
3. Using light pressure, pry out the retaining bar from
each side of the reed cage.

NOTE: It is necessary to pry each retaining bar
until it can be removed by hand.
4. Push the inner reeds free of the locating tabs and
remove the reeds.

5. Place two new inner reeds in the reed cage making
sure they are properly seated to the locating tabs.
6. While securing the inner reeds, install the retain-
ing bars with the slots of the base properly aligned
with the locating tabs; then slide each retaining bar
to the reed cage base until it is flush with the cage.

NOTE: Care must be taken that each bar engages
in the locating tabs and the slot with the closed-off
end is directed out.
