8. Remove the stator plate from the engine; then

remove the flange nuts securing the exhaust mani-
fold. Remove the manifold and gaskets.

NOTE: The stator plate screws had Loctite

applied to the threads during assembly. Using an
impact driver, apply a sharp blow to the head of
each screw to break the Loctite loose before
removal.

9. Remove the clamps securing the coolant inlet

hose; then remove the hose from the water pump
and the cylinder head.

10. Remove the cap screws securing the APV assem-

blies to the cylinders; then remove the APV
assemblies and set them aside.

NOTE: Note that the APV gaskets are directional

for assembling purposes.

for assembling purposes.

11. Remove the cap screws with O-rings securing the

cylinder head cover and the cylinder heads; then
separate the cover from the cylinder heads.

Account for the cylinder head O-rings.
