35. With new O-rings on the cylinder head cover cap

screws, install the cap screws and finger-tighten;
then using the pattern shown, tighten the cap
screws in 2 steps (step 1 = 15 ft-lb; step 2 = 25 ft-
lb).

36. With the spark plugs installed, tighten them to 19

ft-lb; then using Engine Pressure Test Kit (p/n
0744-051), pressure test the engine.

37. Slide the APV assemblies into position in the cyl-

inders; then secure with cap screws (coated with
blue Loctite #243). Tighten to 8 ft-lb.

38. Secure the stator plate to the crankcase with the

Allen-head cap screws coated with blue Loctite

#243 and tightened to 8 ft-lb; then install the stator
assembly with wiring harness directed into the
opening of the crankcase.

39. With the stator wiring harness properly routed,

install the harness plate with cap screws coated
with blue Loctite #243; then tighten the cap screws
to 48 in.-lb. Install the ignition timing sensor with
screws coated with blue Loctite #243.
