7.3 Door Pressure
On address 15, with IV set with water connected to a manometer and inserted in the
pump, internal stop flow / Robson must be open (same conditions as used before).
With the syringe connected to manometer, open syringe way tab and increase pressure to
0.8 bar, close syringe way tab to keep 0,8 bar pressure on IV set.
Press once start key and check if pressure stays above 0.8 bar. Repeat this step several
times.
Continue infusing until max pressure is reached and check:
Silicone set: 1.2
– 1.5 bar
PVC Set: 1.5
– 2.5 bar
7.4 Calibration of infused volume (speed tuning)
The revolutions per minute of the pump block determines the rate of infusion. Therefore
the rotation speed of the pump block must be calibrated in the so-called volume test.
Process volume test
1. Insert IV Set in pump and switch on the pump.

Fill a new administration set with water and connect to balanced scales.
- Set Address. 10 = 1000
- Load administration set in pump
- Pre-run: set in pump: Rate 400ml/h, Volume 10ml. Start pump
- Test: set in pump: Rate 400ml/h, Volume 10ml. Start pump
- Adjustment: Read value on balance and compensate (inverse) with
reference test. Adjust address 10 accordingly:
E.g.: Test 9.70 (-30): set 1000
– 30 = 970
E.g.: Test 10.10 (+10): set 1000 + 10 = 1010
- Check: Set on pump: Rate 400ml/h, Volume 10ml. Start pump;
- Limits: 9.7
– 10.3 otherwise recalibrate;
Note: Some commercial testing devices for infusion pumps (e.g. IDA) have a
limited accuracy (up to ± 2% measuring error). Infusion sets have also deviations in
the diameter. Both effects influence the calibration of the IV set. If possible work
with precision scales and with referenced sets. If in doubt please contact the
