7.5 Calibration test / regulating the seed volume
When performing the calibration test, the calibration bag, which comes as standard,
is used. This allows the calibration test to be done very easily and conveniently.
Instructions on attaching the calibration bag are given under item 5.7.
Note: To determine the required sowing volume, you should calibrate the seed rate.
Proceed as follows to carry out the calibration test:
1. Attach the calibration bag to the spreader and
secure it with the magnets and the cord (see
illustration).
2. Use the formula below for calculating the
required sowing volume per minute.
3. The speed required to reach the required
sowing volume is contained in the appropriate
setting charts (see item 8).
4. The determined speed for the spreader plates and the slide valve opening is
adjusted via the control box (see item 6.3).
5. The seed rate calibration test then runs automatically (for exactly one minute),
and the seed runs into the calibration bag without loss.
6. The calibrated and collected spread material must now be weighed.
7. The required setting can be found by adjusting the slide valve opening and by
calibrating the seed once more.
8. The items listed must be repeated until the required output volume has been
reached.
9. Once work has begun, you should check the distribution rate on the field.
Special attention should be paid to driving speed, output volume and lateral
distribution.
The following formula is used to calculate the distribution volume:
