Step 5: Adding the MAX-AOM to the Server
Overview
MAX-HT servers communicate via USB to up to 2 MAX-AOM Audio-Only Modules (FIG. 29). In this
example we will add a single AOM, keeping in mind that each AOM is capable of providing up to four
audio zones.
The process of adding an AOM is different than adding an AVP: Where each AVP uses a single Output
on the server, the AOM uses four server Outputs, to accommodate the four audio outputs that it provides
(FIG. 30).
In our example, we've used server outputs 1 through 4 for the four AVPs that we added previously, so
we'll use server outputs 5 through 8 for the AOM.
To add an AOM to the server, you'll define the four server Outputs individually.
As each server Output is defined, you will associate each one to one of the four audio Outputs on the
AOM (FIG. 31).
Since we are using one AOM, we will connect it USB Port #1 on the server and in the Admin Menu we
will define:
Server Output #5 as AOM audio Output # 1
Server Output #6, as AOM audio Output # 2
Server Output #7, as AOM audio Output # 3
Server Output #8, as AOM audio Output # 4
