Step 6: Setting the CONTROL IP Address For
the Server

Overview

HT Servers come with a default IP Address of

192.168.1.30

. In many residential installations, this

default address will work, in which case there is no need to change it.

However, in many cases, you'll need to change the IP Address, Gateway and DNS Address to make the
MAX Server compatible with the network at the installation site.

To view and edit the IP settings of the HT server, select IP Settings from the MAX Admin Menu. This
selection brings up the Current IP Settings dialog.

The IP Settings dialog displays the default IP Address information of the HT Server.

Verify that these settings are compatible with the network that the MAX server is being installed on.

If you are not already aware of these network configuration at the installation site, ask the network
administrator to provide the network information that you should enter on the server to ensure that it will
compatible with existing network address settings.

To Assign A Different IP Address To The Server

In the Current IP Settings dialog, select

and press Enter to access the Configure TCP/IP dialog
