MAX HT Four-Zone System Setup Guide

Step 1: Setting Up the HT-04 Server

The first step is to unpack the HT-04 Server, and connect a VGA monitor and a PS/2 style keyboard to
the ports on the rear of the server.

Unpack the server. Be careful, these servers are heavy (about sixty pounds). Included in the box with the
server are a power cable, one DVD, one CD, and a Rack-Mounting Kit, plus Installation Guides for the
server and for the Rack-Rail Kit.

You'll need the monitor and keyboard to access the server's on-board Admin Menu to make initial
configurations and add the MAX-AVPs and the MAX-AOM. Since you can also use this type of direct
connection to the server for future configuration changes and diagnostics, consider leaving a PS/2
keyboard and VGA monitor at the installation site for this purpose, although its not necessary to leave
them connected to the server at all times.

Also, take this time to familiarize yourself with the rear panel connectors:

Before you continue, take a few minutes to inspect the HT server, to make sure that
all of the drives are seated properly. If any drives have become unseated during
shipping, gently push them in until they snap back into place.

It is strongly recommended that you use a UPS with the MAX-HT server, AVP,
modules, and Ethernet switches.
