If the pipe arrangement s not the same as pictured, remember to also drain the density meter. The system will
warn that the density is low and X-rays will be turned off. This is desirable since the X-rays would temporarily
saturate the detector if they were transmitted through the empty flow cell.
Close the Manual Drain Valve. Carefully pour the calibration sample into the open Manual Sample Valve at the
top of the analyzer. You will need about 1/2 gallon (2 liters) to fill the Flow Cell and Densitometer.
Follow the CAPTURE procedure in the next Section, then drain the system and refill with the next sample.
Alternatively, you may follow the CAPTURE procedure while the process stream is flowing or trapped in the
analyzer. Pull a grab sample from the Manual Drain Valve while the analyzer is measuring and mark it for
independent analysis. Note the Capture Record Number displayed during the CAPTURE procedure for later
correlation to independent analysis. When you have an assay for the sample, refer to section
4.3.1 Modifying
Sample Data
to add the analysis data and include the sample in the calibration fit.

4.3 CAPTURE Procedure – Using Pushbutton Control
The Capture procedure allows the user to measure samples for inclusion in one of the available Calibration
Sets. A Capture may be performed for each sample during a calibration or over a period of time for later entry
