Notice the button becomes highlighted and flashes “BUSY”. When the button goes back to showing
“Capture”, the procedure is complete.

To inspect the results of the capture, select another record then come back to this record. This will cause
the data to be refreshed.
Repeat the above steps 5 – 10 until enough records are complete to perform the Re-
Calculation of the Calibration Parameters by means of linear fit routines. The method used
(Exponent or Alpha or Hyperbolic) is selected from the UTIL menu. A short-cut button on
the Sample Table goes directly to the UTIL screen for this purpose.
When capturing analyses from the Sample Table, the user has a choice about where the
records will be initially stored, either in the Capture Buffer or the Re-Calc Records.
Captures performed using the pushbutton on the front door will always be placed in the
Capture Buffer and must be transferred to the CalSet records before use in a calibration.
4.5 Calibration Fit
When you have performed a “RECALC” with at least 3 or 4 samples, you may inspect the
calibration results by pressing the GIVEN/CAL SET button on the CAL Screen. Each
sample that was included in the calibration will be displayed with the Given and Calculated
values and the Error based on the calibration fit.
The bottom of the GIVEN/CAL SET Screen will show the overall standard error of the
calibration and the r value (correlation coefficient = 1 when a perfect fit is achieved). A
button at the bottom right allows you to view an x-y Chart of the given versus calculated
results. A good calibration will show most of the data points close to the fit line.
