3.1.1
Run Conditions
Note that a special power failure recovery feature of the system will cause the analyzer to start in the
same state as when power was turned off. The following conditions determine whether the analyzer
will start to RUN or be stopped when power is turned on:
The system will RUN (start repeat analysis) if one of the following is true (assume power is
on and no alarms are active):
1. The door switch is in LOCAL and the touch panel RUN button is pushed.
2. The door switch is in REMOTE and the REMOTE RUN signal is active.
3. The system was running when last powered off (unless one of the conditions below is
true).
The system will STOP if one of the following is true (assume power is on and no alarms are
active):
4. The door switch is in LOCAL and the touch panel STOP button is pushed.
5. The door switch is in REMOTE and the REMOTE RUN signal is inactive.
6. The system was not running when last powered off (unless condition #2 above is now
true).
7. The door switch changes from REMOTE to LOCAL.
If the analyzer was in RUN mode when power was turned off, then after power is restored, the
XRT/XRA Head will wait for approximately 15 seconds before starting analysis. This will allow time
for the electronics to warm up and stabilize. The instrument will then resume the automatic analysis.
Any system alarm will cause the analyzer to stop until the alarm is acknowledged. See section
7.1
General Alarm, Error Messages
for more information about alarm conditions.
3.1.2
Screen Navigation
The Touch Panel software consists of several screens that allow access to verify or configure analyzer
settings. You may navigate through these screens by touching the appropriate button to switch to the
desired screen. Access to functions within each screen may be password protected, but the only screen
that is not accessible without a password is the PASSWORDS SCREEN.
