Hard Disk Format Utility,
Continued
Answer the questions on the screen. The first two questions are already completed if only one
hard disk drive was selected in STANDARD CMOS SETUP and the cursor is on Interleave. The
Disk Drive Type is read from CMOS RAM. The interleave factor can be selected manually or
determined by the Auto Interleave routine.
The hard disk drive manufacturer usually provides a list of bad tracks. Enter these tracks. They
are then labeled as bad to prevent data from being stored on them. The following screen is
displayed after entering Y in Mark Bad Tracks, pressing <Enter>, and selecting add, delete,
revise, or clear from the Bad Track Edit Menu.
Type Y and press <Enter>. A warning screen appears. Press any key to continue.
Warning
Data on the hard disk drive will be irrevocably lost.
