Changing a Password
Select the Change Password option from the Setup Main Menu.
Enter the password and press <Enter>. The screen does not display the characters entered. After
the new password is entered, retype the new password as prompted and press <Enter>.
If the password confirmation is incorrect, an error message appears. If the new password is
entered without error, press <Esc> to return to the Main Setup menu. The password is stored in
CMOS RAM after Setup completes. The next time the system boots, you are prompted for the
password if the password function is present and is enabled.
Password Options Control Prompt
When and if the prompt appears depends on the Password Option settings in ADVANCED
CMOS SETUP. If Always was set in ADVANCED CMOS SETUP, the prompt appears when the
system is powered on. If Setup was set, the prompt appears when Setup is executed.
Remember the Password
Keep a record of the new password when the password is changed.
If you forget the password, remove the computer cover, and replace the Real Time Clock/CMOS
RAM chip. The reconfigure the system.
