Presto Control’s Milking Display
Various parameters are displayed during milking on the ’s Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) in
addition the indicator LEDs (Lights), help to notify the operator of various milk conditions.
No Milk – “No Milk” LEDs
The two outside “No Milk” LEDs indicate a no milk flow condition when lit. When the unit is
first attached to a cow, the No Milk LEDs will begin to flash until milk flow begins. Once Milk
flow is detected, the No Milk LEDs will turn off until a no milk flow situation is detected again
then the LEDs will begin to flash again.
Warning – “Warning” LED
The middle Yellow “Warning” LED indicates, high temperature, high conductivity or
premature take off. When the LED is on the corresponding source is flashing on the screen.
Example: LED is ON or flashing, and Temperature is flashing on the screen means a high
temperature has been recorded.
Temperature Warning
If the Presto Control senses a milk temperature warning (temperature value above the
set-up threshold), the warning LED will flash once every second. If during a temperature
warning the Presto Control senses a conductivity warning, the conductivity warning
overrides the temperature warning. The warning LED will flash according to the conductivity
warning level sensed. (See Conductivity Warning)
Conductivity Indication
Indicates a conductivity level above the threshold value, the warning light will flash according
to the warning level. There are 4 levels of conductivity 0,1,2,3 three being the highest.
0:00 – Duration of Milking
When the attach/detach switch is activated, the display for the Attach/Detach will
immediately show “Attach” and the milking time will begin. Within seconds, the display will
indicate the milking status by displaying “Milking”. The milking duration will end in one of
three ways: the unit detaches when milk flow drops below the detach flow rate setting, the
unit is manually detached or the unit is detached when maximum milking time has been
reached.
0.0LB – Pounds or Kilograms of Milk Weight
This will indicate the milk weight in either pounds or kilograms.
76.1 F – Milk Temperature (Displays Fahrenheit or Centigrade)
The Presto Control will display the milk temperature during a milking or wash temperature
during washing. The display can be set-up to show either average temperature or the peak
temperature. (See ’s Set-up Table)
PK 0.0 – Peak Milk Flow Rate
The Presto Control will display the highest peak milk flow rate (calculated in 5-second
intervals) during each individual cow’s milking. When detached, the highest flow rate remains
displayed. When a new cow is attached, the Peak Flow Rate is set back to 0.0 and the
starts calculating the new cow’s peak milk flow rate.
