15.2 BLOCKAGE

The spray boom is equipped with an automatic lock. This is ensured by two wire ropes (1), which are
connected between the shoulder (3) and arm 1 bracket. When the arms are closed, the wire ropes must
be strained. This is ensured with the adjustment screw (2). When the right arm is opened, the right wire
rope is loosened, while the left wire rope stabilises the boom in the horizontal position. The same
applies to the left side. When both arms are open, the wire ropes are both loose.
15.3 SPRAYING EQUIPMENT 12 MY
When the spray boom is new, the hydraulic cylinder may not be vented, which is why you should the
following before using the boom for the first time:
•
Attach the two hydraulic couplings to the hydraulic connections on the tractor. One standard
double-acting hydraulic connection is required for opening the hydraulic boom.
•
lift the boom about 1 m from the ground,
•
open/close the boom by adjusting the hydraulic valve. Repeat this procedure several times.
This will vent the hydraulic system of the spray boom.
15.3.1 OPENING/CLOSING THE SPRAY BOOM FROM THE TRANSPORT
POSITION INTO WORKING POSITION AND VICE VERSA
•
check the joints of hydraulic connections on the tractor;
•
open the boom by adjusting the hydraulic valve. The left and the right side are opened
simultaneously;
•
when the boom is almost opened/closed, slightly release the hydraulic valve to reduce the
opening/closing speed of the spray boom;
•
if the spray boom is integrated with a hydraulic cylinder for hydraulic levelling or lifting
(optional equipment), the procedure is similar. However, you should make sure that the
cylinders are controlled in the correct order. In this case, lift the spray boom first and then
proceed with the opening of the lateral arms.
•
The spray boom is closed in the reverse order.
