Measurements
Wiremap
The wiremap measurement checks for proper end to end continuity and pairing.
Problems that can be detected are:
· Short circuit

Open circuit
· Reversed pairs
· Transposed pairs
·
Split pairs
· Shield continuity faults
Length
The length measurement determines the electrical length of the cabling run
under test. Length measurement requires accurate cable nominal velocity of
propagation (NVP) setting to yield specified accuracy. NVP values are
automatically loaded when you select a cable from the built-in database.
Accuracy ± 4% or ± 2 feet (0.6 M), whichever is greater
Resolution ± 1 feet (0.3 M) < 100M

Propagation delay and skew
The Propagation delay function measures the one way propagation delay over
each pair of the cabling run under test.

Maximum Delay
2,000 nanoseconds
Delay Skew Calculated as the difference in nanoseconds
between the longest and shortest measured
propagation delay among the four pairs of a single

Near end crosstalk (NEXT)
Measures near end coupling between pairs in the cabling run under test.
Measured at both ends of cabling over 6 pair combinations.
