Making a call
From the home screen, key in the number you wish
to call and press the
Call
key. Alternatively, press the
Right selection
key to access
Contacts
. Use the
5-way
navigation
key to highlight your contact and press the
Call
key. To search for a contact, while in
Contacts,
you can begin to key in a contact name to search
alphabetically.
You can also access and use contacts on your SIM card,
without copying them to the phone. See page 19 for
how to use
SIM contacts
.
Answering a call
An incoming call is signalled by an Æ+Y phone ringtone,
an
Incoming call
message and, if you have set your phone
to vibrate, a vibrating alert. Press the
Call
key to accept
the call.
Ending or rejecting a call
Press the
End
key to end a call or reject an incoming call.
Anykey answer
Anykey answer lets you answer a call by pressing any key
except the
5-way navigation
key,
Left selection
key,
Right
selection
key,
Volume
key or
End
key. To activate, go to
Menu \ Settings \ Call Settings \ Anykey answer
and select
On
from the pop-up menu.
Call log
Go to
Menu \ Call log
to view all the calls you have missed,
dialled or received.
Voicemail
To access your voicemail, you first need to set it up.
Go to
Menu \ Settings \ Call settings \ Voicemail
and select
On
from the pop-up menu. Input the voicemail number
supplied by your network service provider. Select
OK
.
To listen to voicemail, press and hold the

key from the
home screen. Voicemail notification will vary according
to your network service provider’s settings.
Speed dial
To set up speed dial, go to
Menu \ Settings \ Contacts \
Speed dial.
Highlight the number you would like to
assign and select
Contacts
. Choose the contact and
centre- or right-press the
5-way navigation
key to
confirm. Number 1 is reserved for voicemail.
You can also set up speed dial from the home screen.
Press and hold an unassigned number key for the option
to assign it.
To speed dial from the home screen, press and hold an
assigned number key.
Automatic redial
To set up automatic redial, go to
Menu \ Settings \ Call
Settings \ Automatic redial
and select
On
from the pop-up
menu. When you next call a busy number, the phone will
offer to redial after a timeout period.
Hide own number
To hide your number from the person you are calling,
go to
Menu \ Settings \ Call Settings \ Hide own number
and select
On
from the pop-up menu. Select
Off
to restore
visibility of your number. The default setting on your
phone is defined by your network service provider. To
check if the function is activated select
Check status
from
the pop-up menu.
Call screening
Go to
Menu \ Settings \ Contacts \ Call screening
. Select
Contacts
, choose the contact you would like to screen
and centre- or right-press the
5-way navigation
key to
confirm. No ringtone will sound when the contact calls
or sends a text message.
