9.2 Troubleshooting
9.2.1 Instrument errors
During instrument operation, it is possible an error may occur, in the event of an error the
instrument will indicate the error occurred. The error tone will play, and the instrument will
display the error. The errors can be viewed by pressing the warning icon located with status of
the instrument, this will open the
Errors
screen (Figure 9.1). Using this screen, the user can
view the error message. The user can clear the error after resolving the issue by pressing
CLEAR
. Press
EXIT
to return to the
Main
screen. If an error is cleared and continues to return,
further troubleshooting or potential service is needed. Refer to the troubleshooting information,
or contact Advanced Instruments Hot-Line Technical Service.

9.2.2 Fatal errors
Errors can occur during testing which will stop the entire test process - these are called fatal
errors. The test is stopped for the safety of the instrument. An on-screen message will indicate
the error (Figure 9.2). If a fatal error occurs, it will restrict the user from starting another test until
the issue is resolved. If a fatal error occurs, call Advanced Instruments Hot-Line Technical
Service.

9.2.3 Non-fatal errors
These errors can occur while testing or when the instrument is idle, they do not stop the test if it
is running. If a non-fatal error occurs, the user is not restricted from starting a test and or
calibration. Printer Door Open seen in Figure 9.1 is an example of a non-fatal error. If this error
occurs during a test, the test will continue running and the user can close the printer door and
clear the error. If a non-fatal error occurs which the user cannot troubleshoot or resolve, call
Advanced Instrument Hot-Line Technical Service.
