OsmoPRO® Multi-Sample Micro-Osmometer User’s Guide

8.1.1 Performing an A/D test
To perform an A/D test, select a set point temperature from the drop-down menu.
After selecting a temperature, the turntable rotates to the home position, the sample and block
motors engage, and the testing process begins. The reading section shows the sample and
block probe readings in ohms and °C and the power level as a percentage. After 5 minutes, the
block temperature should roughly equal the set point temperature.
8.1.2 Fixed resistance
Selecting the option Fixed Resistance switches the test to run with known resistors. This
bypasses the cooling circuitry to verify the A/D is operating correctly.
When testing is performed in this mode, the readings should be 6200 ohms ±50 ohms. If the
readings are outside this range, it may point to issues with the A/D. Refer to the troubleshooting
section or contact Advanced Instruments Hot-Line Technical Service.
