Troubleshooting table
Error
Cause
Solution
Jar has not passed the
corresponding test.
A leak has been detected
in vacuum condition.
Jar-leak test failure
Hairline cracks in the jar. Could
result from use of alcohol to disinfect
in the jar
Replace Jar. Never use alcohol or high
temperatures (>80 °C) to clean the jar. Use
Halamid cleaner and disinfectant as recommended by
Advanced Instruments.
Leaking snap-shut coupling on the lid
Replace the lid.
Jar coupling can be greased with Teflon spray.
The jar coupling can be replaced, please contact your
local Anoxomat distributor or Advanced Instruments for
replacement parts.
Damaged jar-tube insert
Visual check: In case the insert is damaged or shows
severe scratches, the black tube including the insert must
be replaced. Contact local Anoxomat distributor or
Advanced Instruments.
Leaking jar–tube (black tube)
Visual check: In case the jar tube is bent, cracked
or torn, contact your local Anoxomat distributor or
Advanced Instruments.
Jar has not passed the
corresponding test. There
isn’t enough activity to
achieve and maintain an
anaerobic atmosphere in
the jar.
Catalyst-activity test failure
No catalyst in the jar
Insert catalyst in the appropriate location and
restart the recipe
Catalyst not generated
Exchange the catalyst and restart the recipe. Please see
Instrument Operations section of the user guide on how
to regenerate catalyst
Catalyst is weak
Increase level of Quality Assurance test settings to 5 (see
Levels of Quality Assurance). Release the vacuum and air
the jar. Restart the recipe.
Not enough catalysts in the jar
See Catalyst section in the User guide
No H2 in the gas mixture
Check the cylinder. The minimum requirement for
Hydrogen is 5%. (See Standard gas mixture)
Appears during a micro-
aerophilic recipe
Catalyst-activity test failure
A catalyst was mistakenly put in the jar. Remove catalyst,
air out of the jar and restart the recipe.
No start up
No power. Fuses are blown.
Check plugs. Call Service engineer
