5.   Sponges may be replaced by reversing

this procedure (step 4) and then repeating
it with the new sponge.

6.   Adjust as follows:  Attach a sample tube to

the operating head and position the head
down into the sample cooling well.
Position the drip return well so that there
is sufficient clearance at any point between
the edge of the drip return well and the
tube gripper. Angle the drip return well so
that the path of the tube travel is directly
over the drip return well channel and
wiper.

7.   Securely tighten the two nuts.

8.   Operate the unit in the normal operating

mode to insure that the return well is
aligned properly.

NOTE:

The drip return well 

is aligned when there is no
evidence of interference with 
the tube gripper when a sample
is placed in the cooling well 
and all of the heat transfer 
fluid drains back into the
cooling well.

9.   When all installations have been

completed, replace the back cover and
restore power to the instrument.
