8.  Loosen the mandrel set screws (I)

located on the front and side of
the head casting, just below the 
yoke and clappper .

9.  Remove the mandrel and the 

probe assembly (J).

10.  The probe can be removed from 

the mandrel by loosening the 
probe set screw (K) and pulling 
the probe up through the mandrel.

11.  Install the probe in the replacement

mandrel, making sure that the probe is
aligned properly in the mandrel using
the probe alignment tool.  (See the
instrument’s user guide Calibration
section.)

12. See the Tube Gripper Adjustment

section for proper adjustment of the
probe and mandrel assembly on the
sample handler. 

13. Reverse steps 1-8 to complete the

procedure.

CAUTION: 

Don’t overtighten

the mandrel set screw.
