Configuring the Gateway

•

Local IP address - enter the IP address your A850 has to use 
for the PPP connection;

•

Remote IP address - enter the IP address the remote station 
has to use for the PPP connection;

•

Netmask - enter which network mask is to be used for the IP 
addresses (specifies the netmask aka “subnet mask” 
associated with the network IP address); 

•

Timeout - enter the amount of time (in minutes) after which 
your A850 should interrupt a PPP connection;

•

Set the default route on PPP connect - defines the PPP 
connection determined here as default in the dialup modem.

Note: Usually, the PPP connection determined in PPP Dialup is 

defined as default.

Wireless Modems

Most RTU types contact the A850 by a wireless connection; this 
requires a Wireless Modem A440 to be connected to the A850.

Note: The firmware version of the Wireless Modem A440 must be 

a least 3.0!
