Configuring Arrays and Spares

The icons on the left side of the Storage Configuration window
represent the server’s

physical resources

—the array controller

products, channels, and SCSI devices installed in the system.
The icons on the right side represent the system’s

logical

resources

—the arrays and spares you define.

Before you start defining the new array, decide what RAID
level you want to use, how many disks you want it to have,
and whether you want to define dedicated spares (spares that
can be used only by this array). See

on page 10-14.
