Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Bus Termination:
A bus terminator must be installed at each end of the bus,
see Fig. 43.
The termination utilizes a RC-element with the following values:
R = 100 Ohm; C = 1 µF 9.3.9 Safety Information
Note
There are circuits in the flowmeter primary and convert-
er which are dangerous to personnel contact. Therefore
the supply power should be turned off before the covers
are removed. Service on opened instruments should
only be performed by qualified personnel.
• Converter and flowmeter primary are to be grounded in
accordance with the valid international standards.
• The connection leads must be sized for the current draw of
the flowmeter. The cables must correspond to IEC227 or
IEC245.
• For installations inside buildings the supply power cables to
the flowmeter are to installed with a switch or line switch
which should be located in the vicinity of the flowmeter and
identified accordingly.
• The electrical connections between the flowmeter primary
and the converter can only be made with the signal cable
supplied by ABB Automation Products. The connections are
to be made in accordance with the appropriate Interconnec-
tion Diagram.
• For safe operation of the instrument the instructions
contained in the Instruction Bulletin are to be followed.

Notes for Connection of
Peripheral Instruments
With the exception of the supply power circuit the circuits
contain voltages which are not dangerous to personnel contact.
To these circuits, only instruments with circuit voltages which
are not dangerous to personnel contact may be connected.
