Use the Keys Screen with Sequences
You can use the Keys screen to record a Keys or MIDI sequence. You can either set the
Keys screen to play the Pad that is mapped to the selected sequence (only for Keys
sequences), or you can use SEQ mode. See
Use MIDI Sequences to Play an External MIDI
to learn how to use Keys with a MIDI Sequence.
To Record a Keys or MIDI Sequence Using the Keys Screen Mapped to a Sequence
1.
Select the Keys sequence you want to record into.
2.
Push the
KEYS
button to open the Keys Screen.
3.
Touch the pad selector grid in the top left corner.
4.
Touch the SEQ button at the bottom of the pad selector overlay screen. The Keys
screen is now in SEQ mode. Notes played and recorded here will now be sent to
the selected sequence. If that sequence is a MIDI sequence, the notes will be
sent through to the MIDI Out channel selected for that sequence. If it’s a Keys
sequence, the notes will be recorded into the sequence but will only be sent to
the MIDI Out channel during sequence playback.
To Record a Keys Sequence Using the Keys Screen Mapped to a Pad
1.
Select the Keys sequence you want to record into.
2.
Push the
KEYS
button to open the Keys Screen.
3.
Touch the pad selector grid in the top left corner.
4.
Touch the pad that is mapped to the selected Keys sequence.
5.
Notes played and recorded here will now be sent to the selected sequence and
the pad that is mapped to it. If the Keys sequence is mapped to a MIDI Out
channel, the notes will be recorded into the sequence but will only be sent to the
MIDI Out channel during sequence playback.
