Multi-core copper cables
The cross-section of the power line must be sized in order to prevent unwanted disconnections
of the inverter from the grid due to high impedance of the cable connecting the inverter to the
point of supply. In addition, the AC cable must be correctly sized to ensure that the loss of power
on the cable is less than 1% of the rated power and to ensure the proper functioning of the anti-
islanding protection. The figure below shows the relationship between the power loss in the
cable, its length and the cross-section area.
