Other common tasks
The following are instructions for doing a number of common tasks on the
ZeptoMux. For a listing of all commands available on the command-line
interface, see
Appendix A: Commands
.
Changing the login password
The default login password is "
admin
". To change it, you must use the command-
line interface. The
user name
cannot be changed and is always "
admin
".
Command-line interface
1.
On the command line, enter "
enable
".
2.
Enter "
set password
" and follow the prompts.
3.
Enter "
copy running-config startup-config
". This will save the new
password in the startup-config file (for more information about this is, see
Saving startup-config
).
Web interface
Passwords cannot be changed over the web interface.
Changing the privileged password
The default privileged password is blank (just press
Enter
). To change it, you must
use the command-line interface.
Command-line interface
1.
On the command line, enter "
enable
".
2.
Enter the privileged password when prompted (if it’s the default password,
press
Enter
).
3.
Enter "
set enablepass
" and follow the prompts.
4.
Enter "
copy running-config startup-config
". This will save the new
password in the startup-config file (for more information about this is, see
Saving startup-config
).
Web interface
Passwords cannot be changed over the web interface.
