Shutting down the microscope
When you are finished with your study do the following:
1.
Transfer
your
data files
to the “DATASHARE” computer (In the workstation room).
From this computer you can remove your files with USB connection or upload it to
the server. For detailed instructions check the guidelines on the wall.
We don’t have
any responsibility for your data so always copy/remove it to a safe place!
2.
Clean
all the
objectives
, the
condenser
and the
stage
3.
Swing
in the
lowest magnification objective
(or empty slot)
4.
Close
ZEN
software and log-off (if you are not the last one of the day, leave the lasers
on)
5.
Use
the logbook and write in any problems and comments occurred during your
microscope session! If you signed the logbook and did not report any problem, it
means you left the machine in perfect condition.
If you are the last user of the day (check it in the booking homepage), follow
with these steps to shut down the microscope:

Switch off
all lasers in the ZEN software before close the software.
7.
Turn off
the LASOS control panel (idle power) and turn the key to off position to
switch off the
Argon laser
(small black box located on the laserbox). Wait 5 min
while the laser cools down. You can hear when the ventilation switches off
automatically.

Shut down
the
computer
9.
Switch off
the
fluorescent lamp
(white box located on the laserbox, marked with X-
cite sign)
10.
Switch off
the
Components
button (on the microscope panel, located on the laserbox)
11.
Switch off
the
Systems/PC
button (on the microscope panel, located on the laserbox)
12.
Switch off
the
Main switch
button (on the microscope panel, located on the laserbox)
13.
Close
the
microscope chamber
to cover the microscope from dust
14.
Use
the logbook and write in any problems and comments occurred during your
microscope session! If you signed the logbook and did not report any problem, it
means you left the machine in perfect condition.
