WARNING
The microphone replacing and the sensitivity
calibration are prohibited when an explosive
atmosphere is present.
8.4 Disassembly and Assembly
8.4.1 Replacing the Battery Pack
WARNING
To ensure to minimize the risk of electrostatic
discharge follow the instruction below.
Prevent electrostatic charge build-up on the
operator by grounding the operator through
conductive shoes and floors and by wearing anti-
static work clothes.
Avoid any actions that cause the generation of
electrostatic charge, such as rubbing surface of
Battery Pack and product with a dry cloth.
If static electricity cannot be suppressed, check
that the surrounding atmosphere does not
contain explosive gas or steam before replacing
the Battery Pack.
IMPORTANT
After changing the batteries, set “Reset Energy
Left” of UAPMO block to “1” to initialize the
remaining battery life.
The number of days remaining the battery life is
indicated on “Energy Left” of UAPMO block.
The value is assumed ambient temperature
condition as 23 °C. And it takes several days for
the value to be stabilized after the power on and
initialization of the remaining battery life.
The battery pack of an intrinsically safe explosion
protected product can be replaced in the installed
condition in a hazardous area.
Removing
Step 1: Remove the terminal cover.
Step 2: Loosen the two battery pack mounting
screws.
Step 3: Pull the battery pack.
The screw has the dropout
prevention mechanism, it is not
separated from the battery pack

Removing the Battery Pack
Mounting
Step 1: Insert the battery pack lightly.
Step 2: Push the center of the battery pack and
insert it securely.
Step 3: Tighten the two battery pack mounting
screws to a torque of approximately 0.7
N•m.
Step 3: Close the terminal cover.
IMPORTANT
Turn and close the terminal cover to the end. If
not closed properly, liquid may enter through the
gap between terminal cover and enclosure and
damage electrical circuits inside the enclosure.
IMPORTANT
Take care for not to pinch the microphone cable
when you put the terminal cover.
