Maintenance of the air filter (VI)
Remove the cover handwheel and the filter cover.
Remove the filter and clean it in solvent, and then squeeze the solvent out thoroughly.
Soak the filter with engine oil, and squeeze it, making sure the filter remains wet.
Install the filter and the cover.
Installation of the wheels, the support and the handles
In case of the models equipped with wheels, they may be installed in order to facilitate transfers of the generator. In order to do
so, it is necessary to install the axes in the indicated places on the frame of the generator (XVI), and then place spacing sleeves
and wheels on them, securing them with a nut (XVII). At the opposite side of the frame of the generator supports must be installed
(XVIII). This will permit to level the generator. It is prohibited to operate the generator with installed wheels but without the support.
Pump the tyres. Do not exceed the pressure indicated on the tyre. In the upper part of the frame install one (YT-85432) or two
handles (YT-85440) (XIX).
Earthing of the generator
In order to avoid electric shock, the generator must be grounded. To do so the grounding conductor must be connected to the
indicated place on the generator. The connection must be carried out by a person with adequate electrical qualifications.
OPERATION OF THE GENERATOR
Start-up of the internal combustion engine
Before the generator is started, it is required to connect all the electric devices to the generator sockets.
Place the fuel valve lever at ON. (VII)
The choke lever must be moved in accordance with the arrow. (VIII)
Turn the engine switch to ON. (IX)
Pull the starter cord smoothly until you feel the resistance due to the compression of the engine, and then pull it with an energetic
sharp movement. (X)
Let go the starter cord handle immediately when the engine has started.
As the engine becomes hot, withdraw the choke lever to the home position. Each time the position of the choke lever is changed, it
is necessary to wait until the engine begins to function smoothly. The rate of withdrawing of the choke lever returning to the home
position depends upon the atmospheric conditions under which the engine is being started. The lower the ambient temperature,
the slower must be the return movement of the lever.
Connecting electric devices to the generator
NOTE! It is prohibited to connect to the generator any electric devices whose nominal power exceeds the nominal power of the
generator. In case more than one device is connected, their total nominal power must be lower than the nominal power of the
generator.
NOTE! Make sure the electrical parameters of the devices connected to the generator are in accordance with the electrical
parameters of the generator.
Start the engine in accordance with the procedure described in „
Start-up of the internal combustion engine
”
Make sure the connected electrical devices are turned off.
Connect the devices to the sockets of the generator. (XI)
Place the power switch at ON. (XI)
Turn the electrical device on.
In case the power of the connected device exceeds the power of generator, the generator will turn off automatically. In such a
case the connected device must be disconnected. In case more than three loads are being connected, they must be turned off
in accordance with the power consumption order. First activate the loads consuming the highest current, and then successively
activate the loads consuming lower current.
It is prohibited to activate several devices connected to the generator simultaneously. Electrical devices usually consume the
highest power during the start-up procedure. Once a device connected to the generator has been turned on, it is required to wait
until the operation of the device is stable. Only then the next device may be turned on.
Stopping the engine
Deactivate the electrical device connected to the generator.
Disconnect the electrical device from the generator.
Place the socket switch at OFF.
Place the engine switch at OFF.
Move the fuel valve lever to OFF.
