CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE PADS
3. Check:
• brake fluid level
Fluid level is under “MIN” level line

Fill
up.
NOTICE
Brake fluid may erode painted surfaces or
plastic parts. Always clean up spilled fluid
immediately.
WARNING
• Use only the designed quality brake fluid:
otherwise, the rubber seals may deterio-
rate, causing leakage and poor brake per-
formance.
• Refill with the same type of brake fluid;
mixing fluids may result in a harmful
chemical reaction and lead to poor perfor-
mance.
• Be careful that water does not enter the
master cylinder when refilling. Water will
significantly lower the boiling point of the
fluid and may result in a vapor lock.
4. Close the hood.

CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE PADS
1. Remove:
• front wheels
Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.
2. Check:
• brake pads
Wear indicator grooves

→
Replace the brake pads as a set.
Refer to “FRONT AND REAR BRAKES” in
chapter 8.
3. Operate the brake pedal.
4. Install:
• front wheels
Refer to “FRONT AND REAR WHEELS” in
chapter 8.
