5.

Tilt the outboard motor to the fully up
position, and then support it with the tilt
stop lever.

 WARNING

After tilting up the outboard motor, be
sure to support it with the tilt stop lever.
Otherwise, the outboard motor could sud-
denly lower if the PTT unit should lose
fluid pressure.

6.

Check the trim sensor resistance. If the
resistance is out of specification, adjust
the trim sensor cam position and check
the trim sensor.

NOTE:

To check the trim sensor, see “Checking the
trim sensor” (7-54).
