13. Connect the color-coded leads of the wire
harness to the components of the bracket
assembly. The wire harness end with the red
male lead contains the connections for the
starter side of the powerhead. Refer to the
wiring diagram.
14. Route the harness around to the other side of
the powerhead underneath the throttle cables
and clamp it to the bottom cowling. Remove
the lighting coil leads from the sheath and
plug them in to the green leads from the har-
ness. Route the harness through the sheath.
15. Remove the grommet and install the starting
switch on the front panel and connect the
wiring as shown in the wiring diagram. Also,
connect the leads for the neutral switch.
16. Reinstall the carburetor and reconnect the
throttle and choke linkage.
17. Replace the front panel with the three screws
and reconnect the fuel line.
18. Reinstall the manual starter assembly, then
reinstall the starter stop plunger.
19. Verify proper operation of the electric starter,
manual starter, choke and stop switch. Make
sure the motor will only start when the shift
lever is in neutral position.
