IQ10 Color-to-Color Misregistration RAP
Procedure
The problem is misregistration in the process direction.
Y
N
Remove the Copy/Print Cartridge. Move the Tension Lever to the locked position. Check
that there is adequate tension on the IBT Belt to prevent inboard-to-outboard movement
of the belt. The IBT Belt is secure.
Y
N
Repair or replace the IBT Assembly as required (PL 7.2).
Check that the ROS is securely mounted and that the ROS window is not dirty or dam-
aged. If the problem persists, replace the ROS (PL 5.1).
The problem involves a single color.
Y
N
Check that the following components are securely mounted:
•
Rotary Sensor (PL 6.1)
•
TR0 Sensor (PL 7.3)
•
Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1)
•
Rotary Motor (PL 10.1)
Check the mounting of the Developer Housing for the affected color. Ensure that it is installed
correctly and that it is free from damage. Repair or replace as required (PL 6.2).
IQ11 IOT Skew RAP
Initial Actions
Reload fresh, dry paper of the correct specification in all trays. If the problem remains, continue
with this RAP.
Procedure
Make 5 prints from each tray, including the Bypass Tray. The defect is present on prints
from all trays.
Y
N
The skew is from Tray 1.
Y
N
The skew is from the Bypass Tray.
Y
N
Switch Tray 2 and Tray 3. The defect moves with the tray.
Y
N
Check the Feed Roll (PL 13.5), Nudger Roll (PL 13.5), and Retard Roll
(PL 13.7) of the affected feeder for wear, damage, or contamination.
Clean, repair, or replace as required.
Examine the Paper Tray from which the defect is printed. Ensure that the paper
guides and the Bottom Plate are free from damage. Clean, repair, or replace as
required (PL 13.9).
Check the following:
•
Bottom Plate (PL 4.2) for damage or binding
•
Feed Roll (PL 4.4) for wear or contamination
•
Nudger/Retard Roll (PL 4.5) for wear or contamination
Check the Feed Roll Assembly (PL 3.3) and the Pinch Rolls (PL 3.2) for wear or contami-
nation.
Select Print Configuration Page from the menu. Open the front door after the lead edge of
the print has passed the nip of the Registration Roll. Fully extend the Bypass Tray. Observe the
feed while manually rotating the drive components. The sheet is skewed at the Registration
Roll.
Y
N
Replace the ROS (PL 5.1).
Check the Registration Springs, Registration Rubber Roll, and Preregistration Roll for wear or
contamination (PL 4.7).
If the problem continues, replace the Main Paper Handling Frame Assembly (PL 4.1).
