Initial Issue
009-323 Process Motor RAP
Control Logic detected the signal, Process Motor Fail (H) +5VDC.
Procedure
Access the Digital Output Test (GP 2). Enter code 54. Press the Item/Enter button. The Pro-
cess Motor energizes.
Y
N
There is less than 1 VDC from J 52 pin 2 to J 52 pin 5 on the Process Drive Unit (PL
10.1).
Y
N
Go to Flag 2. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to frame ground. If the wires
are OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
There is +24 VDC from J 51 pin 2 to J 51 pin 1.
Y
N
There is +24 VDC from J 32 pin 7 to J 32 pin 11.
Y
N
Go to the 001-703 RAP.
Go to Flag 1. Check for an open circuit.
Go to Flag 2. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to frame ground. If the wires are
OK, replace the Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1).
Access the Digital Output Stop routine. Enter code 54. Press the Item/Enter button. Remove
the Print/Copy Cartridge. Cheat the Left Front Cover Interlock. Access the Digital Output Test
(GP 2). Reenter code 54. Press the Item/Enter button. The IBT Belt rotates.
Y
N
Switch off the power. Remove the Process Drive Unit. Check the gear on the IBT Drive
Roll (PL 7.3) for damage or contamination. If the gear is OK, replace the Process Drive
Unit (PL 10.1).
There is less than 1 VDC from J 52 pin 1 to J 52 pin 5 on the Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1).
Y
N
Disconnect P/J 52 from the Process Drive Unit. There is +5 VDC from J 52 pin 1 to J
52 pin 5 on the harness.
Y
N
Go to Flag 3. Check for an open circuit. If the wire is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL
11.2).
Replace the Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1).
There is between 1.5 and 3.5 VAC from J52 pin 6 to J52 pin 5 on the Process Drive Unit
(PL 10.1).
Y
N
Disconnect P/J52 from the Process Drive Unit. There is +5 VDC from J 52 pin 6 to J52
pin 5 on the harness.
Y
N
Go to Flag 4. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to frame ground. If the wire
is OK, replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
Replace the Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1).
The problem appears to be intermittent. Check Flag 1, Flag 2, Flag 3, and Flag 4 for loose con-
nectors or damaged wires. If the wires are OK, replace the Process Drive Unit (PL 10.1). If the
condition persists replace the MCU PWB (PL 11.2).
