Phaser 2135 Color Printer
Electrical card cage
Warning Switch off the power and disconnect the power cord.
1.
Open the top cover. Remove the drum/toner cartridges. Place them in
a lightproof black bag to protect the drum units from light and store in a
safe place.
2.
Remove the system controller board as shown on page 105.
3. Remove the rear shield plate as explained on page 97.
4. Remove the seven screws securing the top shield plate to the electrical
card cage.
Note To aid in reconnecting the harnesses, label the harnesses as you
disconnect them.
5.
Disconnect all the connectors from the print engine controller board.
Label the ribbon cables leading to the top cover inner frame to ease
re-connection.
6.
Pull out the disconnected cable harnesses routed through the top of the
chassis.
7. Remove the disconnected cable harnesses from the card cage.
8.
Remove screws securing the EMI shield (and the ribbon cables inside)
to the top of the electrical card cage.
Note how the power wiring harness is
routed under the EMI shield instead of with the other ribbon cables.
9.
Remove the print engine controller board as shown on page 108.
10.
Remove harnesses from the front of the electrical card cage.
11.
Remove the two screws securing the electrical chassis cooling fan.
Remove the fan.
12. Remove the 8 screws securing the electrical card cage to the printer
frame.
