Chapter 3 – SmartPAC PRO Initialization Mode

This feature also backs up the SmartPAC PRO Initialization parameters.

Instructions for backing up tools to a network drive are provided on the Wintriss Web site
(

). Instructions for backing

up tools to a USB disk are provided below.

Backing Up Tools to a USB Disk

The USB disk you use for backup must have at least 8 MB of free space in order to store all tools and
Initialization parameters on a SmartPAC PRO.

1.

Plug a USB disk with the necessary free space into USB connector on the SmartPAC PRO’s front
panel

2.

Select the BACKUP/RESTORE item on the Main Initialization Menu. The Backup and Restore
Utility screen appears, Figure 3-11. The date of the last backup (if one was performed) is
displayed on the screen.

3.

For Target Location, select USB Disk.

4.

Press Backup and follow the instructions on the screen.

Backing Up Tools to a Network Folder

1.

Set up a folder for backup/restore over your network according to Setting Up Network Folder for
Backup and Restore, below.

2.

On the Backup and Restore Utility screen, select Network Folder as the target location.

3.

Press Backup. The tool information is backed up to the network folder you set up.
