TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE English
3.7. Scope of delivery
•
Air distributor with flange connection for the inlet
pipe
• Aerator pipes
• Drainage connection
• Connecting sleeves and T-connectors
• Base support
• Fixation material
• Drilling plan for the base supports
• Overview and layout of the individual compo-
nents
3.8. Material to be provided by the customer
• Inlet pipe for air supply
• Fan or compressor
• Drainage pipe with stop valve
4. Transportation and storage
On delivery, check immediately that the ship-
ment is complete and undamaged. If any parts
are damaged or missing, the transport company
or the manufacturer must be notified on the day
of delivery. Claims made after this date cannot be
recognised. Damage to parts must be noted on
the freight documentation.
4.1. Transport
Only the designated and approved fastening
devices, transportation and lifting equipment
may be used for transportation. These must have
sufficient load-bearing capacity to ensure that an
aerator field and its accessories can be trans
-
ported safely.
The personnel must be qualified for the tasks and
must follow all applicable national safety regula-
tions during the work.
4.2. Storage
• The individual components must be stored in
their original packaging.
• The store room must be dry and frost-proof. We
recommend storage in a ventilated room with a
temperature that is maintained b5 °C
and +25 °C. The temperature must not exceed
+50 °C. The relative humidity may not be higher
than max. 65 %.
• The components must also be protected from
direct sunlight. The distance from heat sources
must be at least 1 m
• Furthermore, the components must not come
into contact with hot sparks (welding work,
cigarettes, etc.) or be stored near solvents, oils,
chemicals or acids.
5. Installation
In order to prevent damage to the product or seri-
ous injury during installation, the following points
must be observed:
• Installation work – assembly and installation of
the aerator field – may only be carried out by
qualified persons. The safety instructions must be
followed at all times.
• The components of the aeration system must be
inspected for transport damage before carrying
out any installation work.
5.1. General
For design and operation of technical sewage sys-
tems, observe the pertinent local regulations and
directives for sewage technology (such as those
of the German Association for Water, Wastewater
and Waste).
The following information must be observed
when installing the aeration system:
•
This work must be performed by qualified per
-
sonnel.
• Check that the available design documentation
(installation plans, layout of the operating space,
drilling plan) is complete and correct.
• Also refer to all regulations, rules and laws for
working with heavy and suspended loads.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment.
• Please also observe the applicable national acci-
dent prevention regulations and trade association
safety provisions.
DANGER of falling!
During installation, work is sometimes
performed directly at the edge of the basin.
Carelessness or wearing inappropriate cloth
-
ing could result in a fall. There is a risk of fatal
injury! Take all necessary safety precautions
to prevent this.
DANGER due to toxic substances!
During work in an environment hazard-
ous to health, e.g., in sewage or wastewater
treatment plants, there is an increased risk
due to bacteria and viruses. To mitigate the
increased risk, heed the following points:
• Open wounds must be cleaned and treated
immediately!
• Eating and drinking is strictly prohibited!
• Appropriate protective equipment must be
worn!
• Disinfect persons and tools when leaving the
unit!
5.2. Installation types
•
Aerator field is anchored securely to the bottom
of the basin.
5.3. Operating space
• The operating space must be clean, free of coarse
solids, dry, frost-free and, if necessary, decon-
taminated.
• During any work in pump chambers, a second
person must be present for safety reasons.
• Take the necessary countermeasures if there is a
risk of toxic or suffocating gases collecting.
• The set-down location must have a solid bear-
ing surface and be designed appropriately and
dimensioned large enough, so that the entire
load can be unloaded and stored according to
specifications in the section “Transportation and
