PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
health must be generally decontaminated before
being used in other media.
Clarification must be sought as to whether the
aeration systems may be used again at all, in
another medium.
• Consult Wilo customer service for use in highly
flammable, explosive and/or aggressive media!
3. Product description
3.1. Intended use
Wilo-Sevio AIR D aerators and aeration systems
are used for air intake of large to fine bubble air
in aqueous media such as water, pre-purified
sewage or sludge, for the purpose of supplying
oxygen.
Use only in industrial sewage after consulting
Wilo customer service!
The media temperature must be b5 °C
and +30 °C. Wilo customer service must be con
-
sulted for use in media with higher temperatures.
In addition, the surrounding medium must be free
of any sharp objects. It is recommended to carry
out mechanical cleaning upstream.
The supplied air must not exceed a max. temper-
ature of +60 °C (for higher temperatures please
consult Wilo customer service), must be free of
oil, dust and solvents. Dust filters must comply
with filter class EU4 according to DIN 24185
(degree of separation >90 %).
All filters and insulating material used must not
consist of fibreglass, mineral fibres or other
fibrous materials. Rotary slide valves with graphite
discs must be equipped with an air filter on the
pressure side.
These materials can clog or damage the
diaphragms.
3.2. Improper use
Aerators and aeration systems must
not
be used
in:
•
Media containing fats and oils (above 25 ppm)
• Media with organic solvents
• Halogenated compounds
• Anaerobic milieu
3.3. Set-up
The Wilo-Sevio AIR D aeration system is com-
posed of one or more aerator fields with multiple
aerator lines. An aerator field forms the basic unit
here and consists of several components.
3.3.1. Pipework
The pipework consists of individual pipes made
of stainless steel or plastic. Here, a distinction is
made between the air distributor and the pipes
for the aerator lines.
The air distributor has a flange connection for the
connection to the downpipe on-site.
The pipework for aerator lines is connected to the
air distributor via T-connectors. The individual
aerator lines are connected using connecting
sleeves.
Sealing plugs are placed at the ends of the pipe-
work.
The drainage pipe is connected to a central pipe
(air distributor or connection at the end of the
aerator lines). This can be used to drain the con-
densate which can form during aeration.
3.3.2.
Floor fixation
The threaded rods are used to attach the com-
plete pipework to the bottom of the basin. These
also enable levelling of the aerator groups.
3.3.3. Disc diffuser
The housing components are made of PP-30GF,
the membrane is made of EPDM or silicone.
A threaded flange with a male thread is cast on to
the housing.
The disc diffuser is installed via a mounting base
made of EPDM with female thread.
3.4. Function
A fan or compressor pumps air into the air
distributor via the inlet pipe. The air distributor
distributes the air evenly to the individual aerator
pipes and the disc diffusers. The disc diffus-
ers distribute the air over the entire diaphragm
surface and channel it into the fluid.
