All resistors have now been installed. Note that R63 is not used in this implementation. Clean
the soldering iron tip.
– Install C51, C52, C53, C54, and C55 – 100 µF, 450 V, electrolytic . Solder in place. Be
certain to observe proper polarity. After each device is inserted into the board, bend the
leads over onto the foil trace; then solder. Use sufficient solder to fill the foil side of the
mounting pad. Be careful to not use too much heat as that may damage the capacitor.
After soldering the capacitors in place, double-check your work. Note that the negative (–)
terminals all face the same direction on the PWB.
– Install C56 and C57 – 22 µF, 100 V electrolytic . Solder in place. Be certain to observe
proper polarity.
– Install C58 and C59 – 1,000 µF, 25 V electrolytic . Solder in place. Be certain to observe
proper polarity.
– Install C60 – 0.01 µF, 1 kV ceramic . Solder in place.
Note that D51 and the other diodes installed in the steps that follow are sensitive to static
discharge. Take appropriate measures to minimize the possibility of component damage due to
static electricity. Note that the electrostatic protection packaging is not recyclable.
– Install D51 – zener diode, 75 V, 5 W . Solder in place, providing about 1/2-inch clearance
above the board. Be certain to observe proper polarity. Note that the banded end of the
