COMPRESSOR

Refer to page 4-20 for the procedure for ac-
cessing the compressor.
1. Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power.
2.

Discharge the compressor motor ca-
pacitor by touching a 20,000 Ω resis-
tor to the capacitor terminals.

3. Disconnect the three wires from the com-

pressor terminals.

4. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale.
5. Clip an ohmmeter test lead to the over-

load protector terminal

6. Touch the free test lead to the following

compressor terminals. The meter should
indicate as shown:

Electrical Shock Hazard

Disconnect power before servicing.
