4. Assembly
Attention!
Wash your hands thoroughly be-
fore doing any work on the oxygen
supply. Hydrocarbon compounds (e.g. oil,
grease, cleaning alcohol, hand cream or ad-
hesive plaster) can cause explosive reactions
if they come into contact with highly com-
pressed oxygen.
Never use wrenches or other tools to tighten
or unscrew the union nut.
Attention!
After assembly you must perform a
functional check (see "7. Functional
Checks " page 32), to ensure reliable opera-
tion.
4.1 Connecting oxygen
cylinder
1. Briefly open the valve of the new oxygen
cylinder, then shut it again. This is to
blow away any particles of dust.
Attention!
In doing so, it is essential to hold the
cylinder so that the connector never
points at you or another person, otherwise
rapidly-dispersing particles of dust could get
into the eye and lead to damage. It is also im-
portant to prevent O

getting into clothing.
