6. MODEM CONNECTION
The DVR can be accessed using a dial-up modem from a remote computer when a
broadband access is unavailable. The DVR and the computer should both have a
dedicated modem and dedicated telephone line.
The following manufacturer’s modems have been tested and verified as compatible
modems:

US Robotics modem (2000 and on)
z
Creative Labs’ Modem Blasters
z
Zoom
z
Hawkins
z
Dynalink
The modems must be external modems with a serial interface and must be connected
to the RS-232C outlet in the back of the DVR.
1) CREATING MODEM CONNECTION IN WINDOWS XP
Start by clicking on Start, Programs,
Accessories, Communication, then
Network Connections to open the
Network Connections window.
Double-click on New Network Wizard
to run the new connection wizard.
